New Import Requirements for Aluminium Windows and Doors from China

Importing aluminium windows and doors from China? New requirements took effect on 15 October 2026, and importers need to be aware of the potential additional financial and cash-flow implications.

The Australian Trade Remedies Commission (ATRC) has issued a preliminary affirmative determination in its investigation into the alleged dumping and subsidisation of aluminium windows and doors exported from China. As a result, security may be required for affected goods entered for home consumption in Australia.

What does this mean for importers?

Security rates range from 5.3% to 73.3%, depending on the exporter. Security is required to cover interim dumping and countervailing duties that may become payable while the investigation continues. The final outcome has not yet been determined.

The requirements vary depending on the exporter and shipment. It is important to check the applicable conditions before importing, as the actual security liability may be higher than the published effective rate.
